Steps
- Sign in to your Adobe account in a web browser and open the Plans page.
- Find the plan and select Manage plan.
- In the End your service box, select Cancel your plan.
- Read the list of what you'd lose, then select Continue to cancel.
- The next screen shows any refund or fee. Scroll past the alternate-plan offers and select Confirm cancellation.
- Check for Adobe's confirmation email, and check that the Plans page no longer shows the plan as active.
Notice period
No notice period in our sources, but timing decides the fee. Cancelling within 14 days of your first purchase gets a full refund. After that, cancelling an annual plan billed monthly brings an early termination fee.
Refunds and fees
Within 14 days of first purchase: full refund. After 14 days: no refund, and an annual plan billed monthly carries an early termination fee. The government's complaint describes it as half of the remaining payments on the contract. Under the March 2026 settlement, Adobe must disclose the fee and how it's calculated before you subscribe, and must remind you before a free trial longer than 7 days turns into a paid plan with that fee.
If you pay through an app store, PayPal, or another company
- Bought through an app store or another seller? Cancel with them, not Adobe. A charge that starts APPLE* or GOOGLE* on your statement points to the store.
- Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → the plan → Cancel Subscription.
- Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → the plan → Cancel subscription. Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel.
Offers you may see before you leave
- Alternate payment plans. Business Insider's walkthrough shows offers for other plans on the final screen, before Confirm cancellation.
- The government alleged in its 2024 lawsuit that Adobe's cancellation flow included unsolicited offers and warnings. Under the 2026 settlement Adobe must give subscribers easy ways to cancel.
If it doesn't work
- If the Cancel your plan option isn't there, Business Insider notes, citing Adobe, that it may not appear while a payment is processing. Try again later or contact Adobe support.
- Ask support in writing to confirm any early termination fee before you accept it, and keep the chat transcript.
- If you think you were charged a fee that wasn't disclosed, you can report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Built from press guides and a Justice Department release. The steps are from a 2024 walkthrough, and the 2026 settlement requires Adobe to make cancelling easier, so the screens may have changed.
